Wow! This was a quick and easy change up from the standard burger. Made as specified, but used Italian sausage instead of pork sausage. Even though my hubby is a die hard Browns fan, he is a fan of the Roethilis Burger! He especially loved the combo of the Ranch and BBQ. Will be making this again!

This burger will "Touchdown" into my favorite burgers - I used "English Banger" sausage meat and I always have to have mushrooms, lettuce & Tomato but the secret of this burger is the combo of Pork & Beef AND the combo of cheeses,BBQ sauce the Ranch dressing. For the bun I used a 1/4 of an onion Paninni bread - great! Super Saturday Night Burger. Thanks for posting QueenofEverything — May 7, 2006

I tried your Roethlis-burgers and an interesting thing happened. After I cooked the burgers, I kept trying to put them onto the buns, but I couldn't quite make it. I kept dropping the burger patties just short of the bun, but every time I did, the referees in the kitchen still raised both hands in the air and called it a "touchdown," even though anyone who looked at a tape of me trying to drop the burger onto the bun could see that it was nowhere near a "touchdown." I guess having a referee with poor eyesight helps in the kitchen, as well as on the playing field in Detroit.

My mom owns a cafe, we live in PA and this was on her cafe lunch menu for the customers, the day after the Superbowl. They were a huge hit! Her regular customers, who are devoted Steeler fans and her employees keep asking when these burgers will be put on the menu again. Thanks for posting!

Very tasty. I made these for our Super Bowl party.I made them as written. Evereyone liked the combination but they all said they would have preferred them with tomato and lettuce. I had to use regular hamburger buns but they were still good.

This burger actually originated at a bar called the First Run in Oxford, OH, home of Miami University. It was named for Ben while he was a student there. The restaurant has changed owners and name, but the burger is still on the menu and it is AWESOME!
