I changed this up a bit. I used the onions and garlic, then used italian seasoning when I discovered I was out of dried oregano (other than ground). I shaped my meat into oblong shapes, to fit the pita bread. I made traditional tzatziki, and added shredded lettuce to the burgers. I heated my pita bread in hot olive oil in a skillet while my burgers were out on the grill. Spread tzatziki on the pita bread, put a burger on it, topped with shredded lettuce, feta cheese, and more tzatziki. Folded the wonderfully warm pita bread over, and I had sandwich perfection! Made for Photo Tag!

Oh yum...what a simple and great tasting recipe! The herbs in the burger really took it in a different direction, that made such a welcome change, and the lettuce mix was delish! The pita also makes a change from the regular burger bun...which sometimes is just too much bread for me. I didn't use all of the burger mixture,so made it into little meatballs, gently fried them off and have frozen them..ideal for childrens meals or meatball sandwiches!! Thanks Boomette...
