The Portuguese brought oranges and other citrus fruits to Brazil in 1500, and they are used in several dishes and juices. Students may enjoy a fruity drink, such as pineapple-orange drink, as an after-school snack. From FoodinBrazil.com
- 2 tablespoons crushed ice
- 2 tablespoons sparkling water or 2 tablespoons seltzer water
- 1⁄2 cup orange juice
- 1⁄2 cup pineapple juice
- Pour the crushed ice and water into a large drinking glass.
- Add the orange juice and the pineapple juice. Stir and drink.
- This drink can also be made quickly in a blender. Serves 1 or 2.
I put the juice & ice in the blender & whizzed it all up them topped off each glass with selzer. actually, I used orange seltzer. ;) (i quadrupled the recipe) delicious & refreshing in this hot & humid day. just shy of 100F in NYC. :o Thank you! Made for Emerald City Shakers ZWT7.
I really enjoyed this light and refreshing fruit drink. The flavor of the pineapple and orange combined was lovely. The fizz was a lovely addition. I made this drink in my blender using fresh squeesed orange juice and a pineapple juice that I made previously in the week. Thanks for sharing this quick and easy to make treat. I looked at the thermometer outside the window and it read 99 degrees and I new I needed something light and refreshing. This sure hit the spot. Great drink! Made for ZWT7.
