A refreshing beverage that's good any time of the year from TOH. I use decaf tea bags for all of my iced teas. Plan ahead as this tastes better if refrigerated overnight.
- 1 quart water
- 7 individual tea bags
- 1 cup unsweetened pineapple juice
- 1⁄3 cup lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- In a saucepan, bring water to a boil. Remove from the heat. Add tea bags; cover and steep for 3-5 minutes. Discard tea bags.
- Stir in the pineapple juice, lemon juice and sugar until sugar is dissolved.
- Refrigerate overnight for the flavors to blend.
- Serve over ice.
This was very good and refreshing. I would never have thought to make iced tea with pineapple! I used frozen pineapple chunks as the ice. Thnx for sharing your recipe, L2C. Made for Comfort Cafe Snow Queen Chalet Jan 2010.
I made this as directed but found the lemon juice overpowered the pineapple, ended up adding another 1/2 cup pineapple juice and also a little more sugar, would probably cut down on the tea bags next time, just a personal preference!
