A delicious combination of sweet and salty. This dip is always a hit!
- 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, well-drained
- 2 tablespoons chopped onions
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 teaspoon seasoning salt
- 2 cups chopped nuts
- Combine all ingredients, except for 1 cup of the nuts.
- When chilled, roll in one cup of nuts.
- Serve with crackers.
A hit! I added some finely chopped green pepper like Kim (about 2 tablespoons) and used pecans. I let it sit overnight and served it the next day. Very nice!
This was very very good. However - I only added the garlic salt ( out of seasoning salt ) and I thought it was just slightly too salty for me. You might want to add only half the salt and taste it first. Everyone at Thanksgiving loved it - it made 2 large cheeseballs. I also added some dried cranberries ( craisins ) and they gave it a nice burst of color. Very nice gift that I will make again.
YUMMY!!! Served this with "Sociable" crackers. Changed the recipe just a bit as I used dehydrated onion flakes (as the onions I had on hand were really strong). The dried onion worked fine as I let it set overnight. Served this recipe at an adult gathering but I bet the little kids in the family would love it. Keep posting those recipes, Barbara!!!
