This was given to me by a Mennonite friend (along with her recipe for apple dumplings). Wonderful and easy.


  1. Mix flour, sugar, salt and shortening in a large bowl.
  2. Mix egg, water and vinegar together.
  3. Add egg mixture to flour mixture.
  4. Roll out to shape needed.

I hate making pie crust, but this one is very easy. Dough was easy to roll and turned out flaky. I used it for a quiche. Will be making this again. Made for Spring 2013 PAC.

I'll start by saying that this recipe makes enough for two, two crust, pies. I used half for my Christmas dessert: Candy Apple Pie, and froze the other half. I might be making pies more often now. :D
