Don't be turned off by the number of steps involved ~ Candace has simply written out detailed directions on how to make the pastry, & once you've got the hang of it, it really does go quickly! It's pretty much the way I usually do pie crusts (& I've done a lot of 'em over the years), but I much enjoyed your 'refresher course,' on it! And, of course, you're right; the flavor AND the satisfaction of doing it yourself is much more pleasurable than just going out & buying one! I enjoyed making your pastry crust (made a cranberry apple filling for it) & gifted it to a neighbor couple who were having guests for the weekend! [Made & reviewed for one of my adoptees in this Spring's round of Pick A Chef]
