Philadelphia Style Ice Cream

"This is a very rich ice cream, but not sickeningly sweet. There are no eggs in this recipe so there's no cooking and waiting to cool! (which means you can eat it sooner!) Cooking time represents approx time to freeze."

• Yields: 1 gallon

ingredients

• 2 cups light 10% cream (Half & Half)
• 1 quart whole milk
• 2 1⁄2 cups sugar
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 2 tablespoons vanilla extract

directions

1. Mix all ingredients using a hand mixer to blend thoroughly.
2. Refrigerate until cold.
3. Make ice cream following the instructions for your ice cream maker.
