I"m not even sure how to pronounce this recipe, but I can tell you one thing, these cookies are so tasty - This spice cookie , traditionally prepared for Christmas, features black pepper. Pfeffernuesse is the German word for "peppernuts". The black pepper enhances the spice tasts without adding heat, Simply Delicious!!

My brother wanted pfeffernuesse for Christmas but you can't go into a store here and buy them like you can where I'm from! So I went and bought the stuff to make them cuz i'm a good sister even though I don't like anise or licorice flavoring at all. Mixed them up and baked them today and they are so good! Way better than any I've ever eaten from the store. I told him he has to share! :) Thanks Chef mariajane for the recipe!
