The sauce from this recipe is AMAZING! (I use my own recipe for the chicken part so all I can review is the sauce.) This sauce is now my family's favorite Chinese sauce for chicken. I used white wine instead of sake or rice wine because it's what I had on hand so I don't know what it would taste like with what's called for. But even so, I ended up making this sauce twice in one week because we all liked it so much! :.)
Great recipe! The chicken's batter is wonderful. Tip: Add ginger powder to batter. <br/>I found the vinegar too acrid in the original recipe. I ended up adding a little bit less. <br/>Another tip: stirfry vegetables in butter, and add some cayenne sweet pepper.
Sauce is too strong for me but I loved the chicken...
This was a very good sauce. I did not make the chicken part. Even though the sauce was good, it did not remind me of the PF Chang's sauce. My rice wine may have been too strong, or the vinegar. Will try again.
