Yum Yum Yum!!!!! I made chicken and bow tie pasta and added your wonderful sauce and it was scrumptious :) I made it exactly as written and I change anything next time it will be to use real garlic rather than powder.... Thanks for sharing.
This is great sauce!!! Of course you can't use a substitution of half and half and cut down the butter. I think if you do that you are ruining the flavor of the sauce. Excellent sauce. I served with Olive Garden Toasted Ravioli. I used my homemade pesto sauce which I made from basil for my garden. I will definitely make this again and hope others try this recipe.
I tinkered with the recipe a bit. I marinated a chicken breast in basil pesto from stonewall kitchen for 24 hours, then grilled it with some salt, red pepper flakes and garlic powder and lots of pepper. Didn't add water to it, just cream, doubled the pesto added chopped garlic and red pepper flakes and alot of pepper. Served it over mixed greens , penne pasta and grilled chicken. But.... somewhere I added too much salt. But it's still good. Will make again. Sauce was nice n thick. Cheesy. Mmm mm. Thanks for the recipe.
I had to make some adjustments to get the sauce in the right consistency (including adding cornstarch, adding more pesto, and LOTS of pepper). I was afraid it turned out too salty but when I served it at a dinner party, everyone surprisingly loved it.
Needed to bring something to a "spaghetti potluck" (they cook the noodles -- the guests each bring a sauce) and wanted to make something besides the usual suspects (marinara, vodka, etc.) Had some homemade pesto to use up, so this recipe was perfect! Used 2 cups cream (no water, as I wanted a thicker sauce), and doubled all other ingredients, with the exception of garlic powder because I used a very large grated clove, and the salt, as my pesto was fairly salty and a cup of parm would add a lot of salt as well. Simmered for a good bit longer to thicken it up. The sauce itself turned out a bit too salty, but once added to the noodles, I had almost everyone ask for the recipe...
This was so easy to make and delicious! I served it at a party and added shredded chicken to it. It multiplied easily for a crowd, and everyone loved it. I'm definitely making this again!
Rich, decadent & delicious! Made it with this pesto:

http://www.food.com/recipe/basil-pesto-8650

It was out of this world. No substitutions...it's perfect as is! Tossed it with sauteed chicken tenders & zucchini. Mmmmmm. Everyone loved it!
I made this last night! I saut?ed up some chicken breasts that I had marinated in pesto and then sprinkled with garlic salt while cooking. The sauce was really simple and I was afraid that there wasn't going to be enough with the amount of noodles I made, but there was perfect amount. You can always double the sauce which I might do next time. Anyways...overall this was a great recipe and will be the only Pesto Cream Sauce recipe I will ever use! Thank you!!! Oh and I uploaded a photo...hopefully it's approved :)
I have been looking for a good creamy pesto recipe for years and this it!. Easy and absolutely delicious. I did use a little more prepared Pesto. About an extra heaping teaspoon. I served it over cheese ravioli and turkey basil meatballs. First bite and my husband said, "this is a do again". When I get my homemade pesto down, I will try it with the homemade pesto. excellent!
I was looking for a creamy pesto sauce to use for some mushroom ravioli and some homemade pesto. I did sub half & half for the heavy cream and cut down the butter to 1 tbsp. It was rich enough with my changes, but was way too runny. I added some cornstarch, which helped a bit, but it still wasn't thick enough and didn't have enough pesto flavor.
