Here's a delightful Persian Sugar that's simply and quickly made and so delicious sprinkled atop yogurt and fresh fruit, as a topping for ice cream, over pancakes -or- as a delectable filling for crepes French-Style Pancakes/ Crepes With Variations or baked in pastries. Enjoy!
- Combine finely chopped walnuts, sugar, and rose water in a bowl.
- Sprinkle over yogurt and fresh fruit or as a topping for ice cream, over pancakes -or- use as a delectable filling for crepes or baked in pastries. Makes about 2 cups.
I made this to serve in crepes with fresh pitted cherries. I used a combination of pine nuts, brazil nuts and blanched almonds which I crushed in my mortar and pestle somewhat, added the sugar and Iranian rose water. Made for Visiting Iran(Persia) in June 2012!
