This recipe was obtained from a cook in a local restaurant. The crust does not fail or fall apart while handling, like some of the recipes you may have used in the past. The baked crust is pleasing to your sight and delicious.
- Cut the shortening into 2 cups of flour and salt, until you have small pieces or beads.
- Make a paste from the remaining 1/4 cup of flour and 1/3 cup of water by mixing it with a fork in a separate larger cup.
- Work this paste into the dough, until thoroughly mixed. Sprinkle with flour and roll out on pastry board.
