    • 20 Oreo cookies, crumbled
    • 1/3 cup melted butter

    Chocolate cream Cheese Layer

    Sour Cream Layer

    Directions:

      Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

      Mix together cookies and melted butter.

      Press into 9" springform pan.

      bake 5 minutues.

      In a large bowl mix cream cheese and sour cream for at least one minute.

      Add sugar, cocoa, mixing well.

      Add eggs, one at a time.

      Mix well.

      Add flavorings and adjust peppermint oil.

      Pour into pan and bake 30-40 minutes until center is just set.

      Let stand for one hour.

      Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

      Mix sour cream, sugar and vanilla.

      Pour over chocolate cream cheeselayer.

      Smooth on top and bake for 5 minutes.

      Cool to room temperature, cover and refrigerate overnight before serving.

      Remove from pan and garnish with candy canes.

      This cheesecake had a great texture and taste, but it is very very rich in taste. It was easy enough to make. I took it to a party and everyone kept saying the same thing, "It's good, but very very rich." A sliver of this cheesecake will do you just fine. Perhaps the topping is so decadent, it just makes this recipe over the edge.
