I made this tonight. I had to alter it a bit. I added a 6 oz can of tomato paste to thicken it up. I added double the salt and pepper. Instead of diced tomatoes, I added 15oz of whole, home-canned tomatoes. I would suggest cooking the onions and green peppers with the ground beef. Cooking the pasta in tomato juice really adds flavor.

Very good! One of the best goulashes I've tried so far. Using tomato juice instead of water really makes this dish tasty. Will make again and again! Thanks for posting!!

Quick, easy and delicious. Easy to make a half-recipe, and even a 20-minute simmer is fine (although longer would be better). I substituted chopped zucchini for mushrooms, and note: if you use dried herbs (smaller amount), you can add at any time.

We had this for dinner tonight and it was pretty good. I halved the recipe and it still made a lot. I used red and yellow bell pepper because DH doesn't like the green ones. I sprinkled it with cheese and served it with biscuits.

Really good dish! Very easy to make, and it makes a lot. I followed the recipe as close as I could, and it was really good. I can't think of a way to improve it.

Tried this for C.Y. as he is a "newbie" and I wanted him to feel welcome. THIS IS A GREAT DISH. It has all the hallmarks of one that I will use again and again. Quick, easy, flavorful and the family loved it. I had never thought of putting mushrooms in my goulash, but it really added something. Thanks C.Y. for posting this and welcome to Zaar!
