This is a great dressing, in the south, they add chopped tomatoes and put it over biscuits, or without tomatoes, put it over a baked potato
This was my first time trying this, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was really good! We served it over spinach, feta, strawberries, and almonds. Thanks!
I grew up on this stuff, too. I love this dressing. It is tangy and sweet and goes so well over ice cold lettuce or greens. Sometimes we'll put slice hard-cooked eggs in the greens as well, but the highlight of the salad is this dressing. My advice: make a double batch! :) Thanx for posting!
LOVE this recipe. We use Romaine lettuce hearts. Thanks SO much for posting.
This came out fantastic-I actually tripled the recipe so that I would have extra. I did add just a shake or two extra of salt and a dash of pepper and about 2tbsp extra of sugar but this came out just as I remembered my mother making. My husband loved it-joked he could just eat a bowl of it by itself.I made extra as I like to add bacon dressing to bolied potatoes as a make shift German potato salad (just chill)and this was so much better that store purchased dressing. Thanks for sharing. Note: The only thing I did not add was the onions to the lettuce as I grew up with this just being served tossed over iceburg lettuce.
Mmm...liked it. This dressing is like hot mayo, but instead of oil it's made in milk. I served it over salad greens, half a thinly sliced red onion and double bacon. Some boiled eggs and red pepper wouldn't go amiss, either.
Very good but not quiet what i was looking for but still had a great taste. It was a little too thick for my liking, but other than that very good
I loved it! It's exactly what I was looking for!! It tasted just like what my grandmother made so many years ago and brought back childhood memories of her. It was very easy to make and I only made one change in the recipe. I omitted the bacon because my grandma didn't use bacon. THANKS, Tara!!! Hugs, Karla in Florida
