Pecan Kisses

"Recipe found in a regional magazine. I'm adding these treats to my goodie tray this holiday. Cook time includes letting the "kisses" sit in the oven after baking."

• Ingredients: 4
• Serves: 8

ingredients

• 1 egg white
• 3⁄4 cup brown sugar
• 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla
• 2 cups pecan halves

directions

1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
2. Beat the egg white until soft peaks form.
3. Add the sugar and vanilla gradually.
4. Add the pecans.
5. Grease a cookie sheet.
6. Using a teaspoon, place pecan kisses 1" apart on the cookie sheet.
7. Bake for 30 minutes.
8. Turn the oven off.
9. Let the pecan kisses sit in the oven an additional 30 minutes.
10. Store in an airtight container.

My mother worked in the same hospital as an LPN from 1962 to 1984. The nurses in her unit were always having covered dishes to share for their supper breaks. If Mama liked something especially well, she'd write down the recipe from the nurse who brought it and bring it home. She passed in 2000 & I can't find this recipe anywhere in her effects. Finally, I did a google search and here it is. Can't wait to make it again.
