Another delicious recipe I got from ruthsrecipes.com. Very simple and very few ingredients. Enjoy! According to website it tastes like Boston Brown Bread although I have never tried it myself.
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1⁄2 cup molasses
- 1⁄4 cup sugar (optional)
- 3 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 cup broken pecans
- 1 cup chopped dates
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 teaspoons baking soda
- Mix dry ingredients in one bowl.
- Mix wet ingredients in another bowl.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until all is moistened.
- Stick in a bread pan and bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
