- 4 slices of buttered bread
- 1⁄2 cup pecans (chopped)
- 2 eggs
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups milk
- Cut buttered bread into strips.
- Arrange in layers in a buttered baking dish with pecans on each layer.
- Beat eggs slightly.
- Add sugar, salt, vanilla and milk.
- Mix well and pour over bread.
- Sprinkle pecans on top and bake at 325° about 1 hour.
