Another interesting drink from the May 2007 Smoothies & Summere Drinks, but this one's not just for summertime.
- 1 (16 ounce) can pears with juice, almost frozen
- 1 cup plain low-fat yogurt
- 1 banana, frozen
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 dash ground nutmeg
- Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor & blend until smooth.
- Pour into chilled tall glasses, sprinkle with nutmeg & enjoy!
I skipped the honey and used vanilla yogurt. Delicious.
I used canned pears, but looking forward to trying with a fresh pear during pear season. I also used vanilla yogurt, and only 1 tbls. of honey. I added some ground cardamom with the nutmeg, because I love pear and cardamom together. Great smoothie!
Super easy and tasty too. I too used vanilla yogurt and so I eliminated the honey. I also added extra nutmeg, as it went SO well .
