This recipe is from Tesco, a yummy & filling breakfast or lunch on the go.
- 1 ripe juicy pear, cored
- 1 ripe banana, peeled
- 30 g porridge oats
- 1 tablespoon clear honey
- 110 g plain low-fat yogurt
- 250 ml apple juice
- ice cube
- Place all the ingredients in a smoothie maker or food processor and blend till smooth.
- Serve chilled in a tall glass.
I'm not one to use ice cubes in my smoothies, so froze my bananas first (made 2 servings)! Also put the apple juice in the freezer until ALMOST FROZEN! The oats are a nice addition & help make this drink really special! Thanks for the post! [Tagged, made & reviewed in Beverage Tag]
Excellent, Mandy! I can now combine my muesli and my smoothie!! I made this twice- at first I wasn't so sure; it wasn't thick enough for me, and the oatiness was unusual, but it did taste good so I tried again, using less juice (a combo of apple & orange)and omitting ice cubes, subbing agave nectar for honey. Also, I had time to let it sit in the freezer for ten minutes or so, where it got cool and the oats thickened it. I will definetly enjoy this many times!
