  1. Mix sugar, syrup, milk and peanuts together; cook over low heat for 1 hour or until mixture reaches 260F on a candy thermometer.
  2. Add butter and vanilla; beat until creamy.
  3. Pour out by spoonfuls on wax paper to form patties.
  4. Ready to eat when cool.

This is the same as my family's recipe for years and years, except Mom used 2/3 cup white Karo. Humid weather makes these harder to set!
