Thanks for the recipe, Steve! If you like the original Goodard's peanut pattie, then you will like this recipe. For those not familiar with this Southern institution, it's a bit like a pink sugar fudge (non-chocolate) loaded with peanuts. Follow the directions as above, but use a candy thermometer and remove from heat when thermometer reaches 240 degrees.

This was really a great recipe and so simply to mke. I followed the recipe exactly - however the next time I'll use another 1/2 or 3/4 cup more peanuts. I am not a candy maker because of having some bad experiences years ago - but this gave me another burst of hope - thanks Steve & Claire

The recipe was good. But mine didn't turn out like the Red peanut pattie that my parents like. It turned out more like peanut brittle. :( But thank you for sharing.
