This is my husband's favorite ice cream topping.
- Combine sugar and water in saucepan. Bring to boil and boil till sugar dissolves.
- Remove from heat and stir peanut butter into sugar mixture.
- Place mixture in a food processor or blender and blend on high till smooth.
- Pour cooled mixture over ice cream and sprinkle with nuts if desired.
Truly incredible! I made sundaes with BlueBell vanilla, this wonderful syrup, whipped cream and chopped peanuts. So amazingly good, that I had to search out other things to dip. Had some sliced apples handy and they were also wonderful. Then I settled on a spoon...I think that may be the best way to eat it. I'm also picturing banana splits with crumbled peanut butter cups or M&Ms in our future. I can't believe this recipe has been unreviewed for three years!!! Very easy to make, with ingredients always on hand. I almost skipped the blender step but am glad I didn't, it really did make the sauce perfectly smooth. This is a great make- ahead recipe, it's perfect right out of the fridge. Thanks, Darlene!
