Bring to a rapid boil 2 sticks of butter, 1 cup of peanut butter, and 1 cup of water.
3
Pour over dry ingredients.
4
Add to that 1/2 cup buttermilk, eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla and then mix with mixer.
5
Pour into greased 18" x 12" pan and bake for 25-30 minutes at 350 degrees.
6
To make icing, bring to a boil 1 stick of remaining butter, 1/2 cup peanut butter, 1/3 cup buttermilk, 1 teaspoon vanilla; boil, add powdered sugar, mix well, and pour over hot cake.
Made this for 'Zaar day, we were in the middle of moving house and I thought this a good idea to make for our friends who helped move the numerous boxes. Lovely flavour went down well with a pot of coffee, the icing was a new way of making icing for me, but topped the cake lovely.

Very moist and peanut-buttery! My family loved it. Remember to add about a teaspoon of both baking powder and soda, or the consistiency is a bit off. I frosted it with a different frosting recipe, because I made a layer cake out of it instead of a sheet cake. I'll definately make this again!

I think I did something wrong. My cake baked for forty minutes and I had to take it out because I was afraid it was going to start burning. The batter tasted yummy though. The frosting did not spread well, even on a cake right out of the oven. It set like fudge, but way to quick to spread right. Still, I got it done.
And hubby's huge tub of peanut butter he brought when we were married is almost gone. Yay! I think I'll have to buy more though, because I'm having a huge peanut butter craving lately.
Still with all these problems, it's a yummy cake. Thanks!
