I have not tried this recipe. I got this recipe years ago from a cookbook. You can use butter in place of the margarine.

  1. Mix together white sugar, brown sugar, peanut butter, shortening, margarine, and the egg.
  2. Stir in the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cover the cookie dough and refrigerate 3 hours.
  4. Heat oven to 375.
  5. Scoop cookie dough out by tablespoon fuls and shape scoops of cookie dough into balls.
  6. Place balls on ungreased cookie sheet.
  7. Flatten each ball with a fork and make a criscross pattern.
  8. Bake 8-10 minutes.
  9. Cool.
