Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk Bars

Great for classroom treats, bake sales, etc. Quick and easy to make. Do NOT use reduced-fat peanut butter. Recipe comes from Nestlé.

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. In a small bowl, combine flour and baking soda.
  3. In a large bowl, beat together brown sugar, peanut butter, butter and granulated sugar until creamy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Gradually beat in flour mixture.
  4. Stir in chocolate chunks.
  5. Press into ungreased 13 x 9" baking pan.
  6. Bake at 350° for 18-22 minutes or until center is set. Cool completely in pan on wire rack before cutting into bars.

These are so yummy. I like them even better than peanut butter cookies. I would recommend taking them out before they look golden brown if you like them chewy because they get crispier while they cool. Thanks!

These are just as good as regular chocolate chip cookie bars, but with a good peanut butter flavor. They can also be made gluten-free very easily by substituting AP GF flour and adding 1 teas. xanthan gum. This will most definitely be stored in my recipe collection. Thanks, Parsley!

These bars did not turn out well for me. They were incredibly dry and had a sandy texture.
