Peanut Butter Bars

"This recipe comes from Cindy Porter, and is the absolute best. They remind me of the peanut butter bars served in the lunchroom cafeteria, only better."

directions

  • Cream butter, sugars, eggs, vanilla, and 3/4 cup of peanut butter.
  • Add remaining ingredients (except remaining peanut butter and chocolate frosting).
  • Spread dough on a cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes (do NOT overcook).
  • Whip 1 cup of peanut butter (I like to add a few tablespoons of powdered sugar) and spread on the crust.
  • Frost with chocolate frosting (I like to make my own chocolate fudge icing, but she always just uses chocolate frosting from the store).

  1. Here is yet another tasty that will be on my munchies buffet for New Year's Eve! Great tasting they are, too, but then, I'm extremely partial to both PB AND chocolate, & when they're in combo, well . . . Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful recipe! I'll be making these again! [Made & reviewed in New Kids on the Block tag]
