I don't see why you could'nt try this with well-drained canned peaches if fresh peaches are not available. Yummy!!

  1. Combine peaches with sugar, orange juice& nutmeg.
  2. Spoon into a 11x7 baking dish.
  3. Topping: Beat butter with sugar til fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time.
  5. Stir in orange rind and vanilla.
  6. Stir 1/2 dry ingredients into batter, then stir in milk and then rest of flour.
  7. Spread on peaches and bake at 375 for about 50 minutes.

This is a great recipe I have the same one from Canadian Living Magazine, September 1995. I have used it often and was so glad to find it here. I can now discard my tattered clipped recipe without submitting it. Thank you!
