Two amazing flavors in one place--how can you go wrong? Found at Allrecipes.com posted by Liza; posting here for ZWT 8.
- 1 (750 ml) bottle pinot grigio wine
- 1 fresh peach, chopped
- 1⁄2 cup peach schnapps
- 1⁄2 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 2 tablespoons agave nectar
- ice cube
- 1 fresh peach, sliced
- Stir Pinot Grigio, 1 chopped peach, peach schnapps, basil, and agave nectar together in a pitcher; add ice. Pour into glasses and garnish with peach slices.
This sangria is absolutely delightful! The peach and the basil are a lovely combination; I muddled them in the pitcher a bit before adding the other ingredients to get more of that flavor into the drink. I used vinho verde (a Portuguese white wine) instead of the pinot grigio. Made me smile with every sip - thanks for sharing a great recipe! Made for ZWT8, Chefs gone WILD!
I'm so happy I tried this sangria! It's so refreshing and I would never have thought to marry peach schnapps with Pinot Grigio. I also love the fruit and the not-so-subtle flavor the basil gives it. Wonderful! Thanks, smellyvegetarian! Made for ZWT, Spain region.
