There are 35 other (crockpot)Pea Soup recipes on Zaar. This one is just a little different. It comes from a book called "The Unwatched Pot". I'm sure this can be frozen.
- 2 cups dried split peas
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- 1⁄2 cup celery, sliced
- 1 ham hocks or 1⁄4 lb salt pork
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 6 peppercorns
- Soak peas in water overnight.
- Combine all ingredients in cooker. Cover with water.
- Cook on low 10-12 hours or high 5-6 hours.
