Pea Soup

"You don't get much more traditional Finnish food than pea soup on every Thurday followed by an oven pancake with strawberry jam. The tradition stems from times when Friday was a Catholic fast day so on Thursdays you needed to eat something that would keep you going for an extra day."

  1. Very easy and tasty pea soup! I used turkey bacon and also added a clove of garlic. Bought some sour dough croutons to add to the finished soup, so good!

  2. Absolutely delicious! Very easy to make, but such a wonderful taste. Serve it with homemade bread and you have the perfect winter meal! After I made the soup I added some sausage to it, which made it even better!

After living in England for seven years, we moved to Vancouver Canada end of 2004. Culinaristically the journey couldn't have been much longer - I've discovered the joy of cooking and baking all over here. Recipezaar is giving a brand new way of doing this - and makes husband happy too.
