Instead of having the normal pb&j toast to start your day. Why not try this alternative. Very filling and satisfying, plus protein!!!
- 1⁄2 cup vanilla yogurt
- 1 cup skim milk
- 2 teaspoons peanut butter
- 1 cup strawberry, frozen
- 2 teaspoons whey protein powder
- 6 ice cubes
- Throw altogether in a blender and give er a whirl.
Delicious and nutritious! I made mine with 1 cup greek yogurt (I use fage 0%, higher protein, lower carb), half cup 2% milk, 1 tablespoon peanut butter, 20 grams 100% whey protein powder (which looks like a few tablespoons), 1 cup frozen unsweetened strawberries and a few pieces of ice. LOVED IT! and I am not a big fan of the protein powder flavor at all, couldn't really distinguish the flavor. Tasted much like a pb n j. My tweaks on the recipe for the entire batch, about 3 cups are 417 calories, 33 grams of carbs, 12 grams fat, 47 grams protein.
This was a pretty tasty smoothie. I think I would enjoy this better as a true milk shake using either vanilla ice cream and frozen strawberries or strawberry ice cream.
