Questions & Replies

 1. How far in advance can this pudding be made?

 2. Just curious (since this is "banana pudding") WHY does the recipe not call for Instant Banana Pudding, rather than Instant French Vanilla Pudding? Has anyone made it with instant banana pudding? Would it be too banana-y? Too sweet???

 1. My recipe is almost exactly the same, except i melt a bag of Ghirardelli white chocolate melting chips and fold it into the cream cheese mixture and i use 1 french vanilla and 1 banana pudding mix in 3.4 oz boxes and add and extra half cup of milk (whole). I also do a layer of 1 bag of cookies then bananas, and then spread half of the mixture evenly on top, and then another layer of bananas and spread the rest of the mixture on top and then top that with the 2nd bag of cookies. There's never any left!!!

 2. My family LOVES this. I have to admit, normally I don’t care for banana anything except banana bread but this recipe is REALLY good. We couldn't find the chessmen cookies first time we made it and found 'nilly wafers to be just as good.

 3. Someone brought this to a potluck at work and it was the best thing EVER. I'm NOT a banana pudding fan and had originally passed this one by but went back after the crowd cleared and manage to sneak a taste in private... WOW. I was so impressed and disappointed I hadn't tried it sooner! Even more disappointment hit me when the "chef" of this delectable dish stated she would prefer not to share the recipe. To my joy and also with a bit of luck I was able to Google the recipe in time for mother's day this weekend, 2017. I know it will be a major hit, as it had been at our potluck, and look forward to sharing this with the family! Some slight alterations I made to my version were the addition of almond milk instead of regular milk and Neufchatel cheese instead of regular cream cheese. The pudding still came out thick and creamy and I would recommend these slight adjustments to potentially cut calories or help with the dairy content of this recipe! Also, I saved a couple of the broken cookies from the chessmen packages and crushed them to put over the finished product to add my own fancy "garnish touch" to my finished product. Excellent! Highly recommend to both entry cooks and the most seasoned! This WILL be a hit!!!

 4. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this. I'm southern to the core but never liked Banana Pudding with bananas. My mom always made mine end without bananas. So when I started making this I just put fresh sliced strawberries instead and it is to die for! NEVER any leftover!

 5. Simply awesome. I saw this a few years ago on her show-- and finally made it. Raves and delish and sooo not healthy- but hey, you've got to have fun in life- right? Open both packages of cookies and use the broken ones on the bottom- and the pretty whole ones on top.

I'm trying to get healthier with cooking, but it is so hard with all these amazing Food.com recipes shouting Make Me, Make Me. I discovered Recipezaar in 2002. I tell EVERYONE about it and it's definately my go-to recipe site. Other sites pale in comparison.

Whenever I search for a recipe, Recipezaar never lets me down. I typically ONLY try 5 star recipes, but sometimes will try unrated ones if I am feeling frisky and the recipe is from a chef I'm familar with. Kittencal, MizzNezz and Wildflour are 3 of my favorites.

Diehard foodies tend to annoy. I should know because I used to be one!
