This was given by Zella Gray from East Tennessee and has been used as "prayful distraction" in times of crisis - drop a spoonful of dough, say a prayer! Don't cut the recipe in half - doesn't turn out right.

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Mix shortening, sugars, eggs and vanilla.
  3. Add dry ingredients.
  4. Drop by the teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheets.
  5. Bake for 7 to 8 minutes.
  6. May be kept in refrigerator for a week or so (if they last that long). Can also be kept frozen before or after baking.
  7. Makes 15 to 20 dozen cookies depending on the size.
