Excellent drink! It is certainly appropriate for our election night celebration! However, I did not use sugar free soda and it turned out fine. I did have to switch the gatorade and soda around due to sugar content.

My kids had so much fun making these for the Fourth of July! They tasted really good, too. We used fruit punch and Cool Blue Gatorade.

We loved this drink! Even the adults! It really tasted like cranberry juice & 7up, which we mix & drink all the time. I was worried about the Gatorade, but it didn't have a negative effect on the flavor. My photo isn't quite as beautiful as NCMS', so I'll post it in the photo forum instead. But I wanted to warn everyone that I accidentally bought regular 7up & that's why it started to sink & mix with the Gatorade. Also, there are two kinds of blue Gatorade at my grocery store. One that has a name like "Frosty Blue", "Ice Blue" or something like that & then the original dark blue with no specific name. I used the dark blue. Thanks for posting Pam! I can't wait til next year to make it again!

This did not work for us. Not sure what I did wrong so any advice would be helpful. All the liquids blended together. Please let me know so I can try again.

What a fun drink! It was very impressive when finished and it tasted like fruity-pop. Make sure you use lots of ice! I'll have to try this for other fun holidays as well. Thanks for posting this!

Loved the science and look of this drink but kids nor myself cared for the taste. Used a spoon to drizzle the blue in-basically to help the liquid "float" Use ingredients as stated because the weight of each ingredients is what keeps it from mixing. Thanks so much for posting.

I decided to try the recipe for the first time but i didn't have and blue gatorade or sprite/7up and on top of that, its thanx giving so nothings open near my house! So instead of the Gatorade i tried Cranberry/Grape juice (I had no other juice)and instead of the sprite i tried a bit of club soda. It didn't look like the picture but it tasted good and then i added a few drops of lime juice. Next time I buy some gatorade and sprite I will definitly try it!

The kids enjoyed the presentation of this drink but did not much care for actually drinking it. It did make for a good lesson in science as I explained why the different ingredients remained separated. Thanks for posting.

I couldn't believe I did this right and that it went into three different layers. Looked real cute and tasted good too. Thanks Pam-I-Am Bullwinkle

These were a hit at our 4th of July Party!! I used star shaped ice cubes which made them even cuter! Sprite Zero worked fine for the top! Thanks Pam for a great photo and especially for the many smiles that it brought to the little faces!!!

this was such a cute idea! I used light cranberry juice so as you see from my picture I had to end up changing the order of the colors, but it still looked great! it even tasted better than I thought it would! and the color held up for a loooong time. I will use this every patriotic holiday. thanks!

I kept telling my girls that I had a big surprise for them on 4th of July. I hid the ingredients and brought them out right before dinner. They all thought it was the coolest thing in the world! My suggestion to others is to follow the directions and don't skimp on the ice. Add more after each layer and your drinks will separate out perfectly every time! Thanks Pam-I-Am for making me look amazing to my teenage daughters! KCShell
