This syrup is used for soaking cake layers prior to frosting. Most typical in French Pastry Special and Decorative cakes. Usually a liquor is added that matches and enhances the type of cake and frosting used.
- Boil water and sugar 1 minute.
- Add vanilla and liquer.
- Apply with pastry brush; laying on; not brushing.
