Questions & Replies

  1. No questions - trying to make a simple dinner - might have to run my onion powder through a grinder as I think it is clumpy. Going to make fish tacos - have everything, including coleslaw - just need to figure out some other toppings and sauce. Thanks for the spice menu!

  2. do you do an egg wash?

  3. How much butter??

  4. This is my first time cooking and eating this fish looked for a recipe and found your which seems the easiest and fastest so I am getting ready to do it I will come back after I finish eating, wish me luck, I don't have any onion powder any sub? thanks

  5. Do I pour the entire 1/4 butter in pan, or should it be only enough to coat the pan?

Reviews

  1. Easy, fast, so tasty. Will definitely use this recipe again for a quick meal. I always have frozen tilapia handy and a vegetable multi-grain medley to serve along side with a serving of cole slaw (shredded cabbage, carrots, green onions tossed with bottled vidalia onion dressing). The whole meal is on the table within 45 minutes. As for the tilapia, I soaked it for a few minutes in a dish of low fat milk, as I do with all frozen fish after defrosting, before coating with the spices.

  2. This was great, the whole family loved it. I usually bread and oven fry tilapia, which is lots of work but everyone eats it. I was looking for a quicker recipe and this was SO GOOD, I’ll never cook it the other way again. No leftovers! My only suggestion is to triple the spices and save it so that you have it handy the next time you make it.

  3. Rarely do I ever make a review let alone create an account just to do a review, but this was so good that I couldn't help myself. I didn't have onion powder but it was still delicious! I dipped in milk prior as suggested and glad I did. I also tripled the flour and was worried I had diluted the flavor but it was still awesome. I also used olive oil and added butter to keep it from burning which was a good call. I didn't think I needed nearly the frying time called for, more like 2 minutes each side!

  4. Delicious!!!

Tweaks

  1. It was delicious! You would like to share this recipe with other family members. GREAT!!!??

  2. I didnt do but only half paprika, I had to double ingredients but it turned out amazing! Did double ingredients for 3 pieces

  3. Great recipe! I doubled the flour, but otherwise I made it exactly as written.

  4. I didn't have thyme or oregano by themselves so I used Italian seasoning. The butter I used was real butter with olive oil and Sea salt. Delicious!

  5. I didn't used oregano because I didn't have any. I used cornmeal instead of flour, Old Bay seasoning and left out the salt. I also dip the filets in egg before coating it with the seasoning and used corn oil for frying instead of butter.
