      Wonderful flavor and quick to do. I used Progresso Italian panko crumbs and it worked great. Loved the crunch on the crust. Served it with Island Coconut Curry Sauce mixed with mayo. Also with Bang Bang Shrimp - Copycat from Bonefish Grill and Pazzo's Best Caesar Salad.

      Yum! The crust on these is just perfect, its crnchy and pretty, Make sure you have the oil ready. Just let the crumbs lightly brown and they are perfectly cooked. DH was watching and quickly ran and sliced an onion and we fried those too, I am going to used this recipe alot, thanks!

      The recipe was really incredible. Extremely easy as well. One minute in a 350 degree deep fryer and it produced a light, crunchy crust golden crust. The cayenne adds nice flavor and the perfect amount of spice. I did try the plastic bag method of coating the calamari and, after making a whole recipe, I think that it is fine for the flour, but the panko coating really needs to be done one by one to get that perfect crust. I tried the last half just dumping everything in one bag (first flour, then egg, then panko) and that was just a mess. I also made it with the Spicy Lemon and Paprika Aioli (Spicy Lemon and Paprika Aioli) and that was really, really good. I put only about 3/4 of the recommended lemon juice and it was perfect. Thanks for sharing this - it was outstanding.
