This is a great basic frosting recipe. Good for making birthday cakes with really sweet icing. Since my daughter is allergic to milk, I substituted Rich's whip. It was very creamy and smooth.

- Cream together sugar and the butter.
- Add the vanilla.
- Add the milk and beat on a medium speed until it is a spreading consistency.
- If needed add additional milk, 1 teaspoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.
- Tint with food coloring pastes-- be cautious, a little goes a long way.
