Stir fried Chinese beef and peas - quick and easy! This is from "A Hundred Years of Island Cooking", an old cookbook from the Hawaiian Electric Company.

  1. Combine beef, cornstarch, sugar, soy sauce, sherry, oyster sauce and 1 tablespoon of the oil; marinate for 20 minutes.
  2. In a wok or skillet, heat remaining oil and brown garlic. Add meat and onion; stir-fry 1 minute. Add peas and cook 1 more minute.

This was pretty good. I used beef broth in place of the sherry. I had the butcher slice my meat and I think it was still too thick because it came out a little chewy. I tried my best to not over or under cook it though. I'll probably try this again with chicken.

I made this as a quick dinner last night. I served it over Ramen noodles and the sauce was excellent with them! I did alter the recipe slightly by omitting the sherry wine and adding in extra peas since we love them! Thanks for the great recipe!
