Once again I am giving out a recipe I vowed never to reveal! What is with this site? This has got to be the easiest sour dough recipe, purists beware! It is overnight so it's not the "real" thing. However it works perfect when camping. We just put the ingredients into separate ziplock bags and if we are in the tent we put the bowl of starter to sit overnight in the car. These also double nicely, they are great!!!!

Ingredients Nutrition

  1. Mix the starter the night before in a large plastic bowl, and cover with saran wrap.
  2. The next morning add all other ingredients and mix well.
  3. Fry on griddle till golden on both sides.
  4. One of our favorite ways to serve these is with real butter, a sprinkling of powdered sugar, whipped cream, and a handful of blueberries. We also put blueberries in each pancake as they cook.

Great pancakes! Loved the texture. I was expecting a sourdough flavor, that was the only disappointment. The texutre was so good, and the recipe was so easy, I'll be making these again. Thanks for posting.

My family really liked these. We were having them for dinner on Pancake Tuesday so I fermented them in my oven for about 8 hours on Proof setting. It was nice and frothy and fermented after about 8 hours. I did need to add about 2/3 cup more flour at the end because the batter was very thin. I also added in some vanilla. I served them with home made raspberry sauce and they were a big hit. The recipe makes a large batch of pancakes. I made enough to serve 4 and then put the rest of the batter in the fridge for another day.

Thank you, homegirl, for revealing your never-to-be-revealed pancake recipe! So easy to make and so light in texture. I made mine with my new electric pancake maker and drizzled them with honey and topped them with sliced fresh strawberries for a scrumptious brunch which everyone enjoyed! Those left over (because the recipe made a lot of pancakes) I filled with cream cheese, a pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg and apple slices and rolled up blintz-style and baked in the oven. These too were delicious.
