  1. a good tasting cinnamon roll the brown sugar gives it a distinct taste. I loved being able to make this the night before as cinnamon rolls are a lot of work to do first thing in the morning. Recipe is a little unclear, not sure what pan to cook in, not sure what cinnamon butter is so I used 3 tablespoons of butter mixed with 2 teaspoons of cinnamon and I did not leave them out overnight I put them in the fridge as I was unsure. Easy recipe and wonderful smelling while baking. Definite 5 star with clearer directions. I also topped these with cream cheese frosting :)

  2. We got snowed in for Christmas so I made these the night before. I added raisins and put brown sugar on top. They were excellent! My husband wanted sweeter so I made icing for the top. Next time I will add more brown sugar and cinnamon to the filling. Thanks for the recipe, it was my first attempt at cinnamon rolls from scratch :)

  3. I was looking for the perfect cinnabun, and all the other recipes had reviewers talking about how wonderful the cinnamon rolls were because they were soft and gooey in the middle. Yick! I want bread not dough! I tried this recipe, and this was actually my second time making it. It turned out great, but consider half-ing it if you don't have lots of people. We had to freeze some because we had way too many. Needs icing, but you can just mix milk and powdered sugar for that (a drop of vanilla and brown sugar help too). I just rubbed the butter on the dough with a knife when it came to that part of the recipe & only used a 1/4 of a cup.

  4. These were a big hit at my house. True, the recipe lacks some details, but experienced cooks will know what to do. I am amazed that the yield is supposed to be 10 rolls, because I made 36 rolls and they didn't all fit in a single jelly roll pan. If made into huge 10 rolls, they probably are dry, as some reviewers have commented. Made into 36 smaller rolls, they were just right, in my opinion. To make 36 rolls: pat the dough into a rectangle 36 x 12 inches and spread 1/2 cup of soft butter gently on the rectangle. Mix 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons of cinnamon, sprinkle it over the entire surface and then rub or pat it into the butter. Carefully roll everything and pinch the end in place. Then cut 1 inch slices with a sharp knife and arrange in the pan of your choice, leaving 1/2 inch spaces all around to allow room for rising. These are not gooey rolls, so it is a good idea to lightly grease the bottom and sides of whatever baking pan(s) you use.

  5. i used 3 cps whole wheat and 4 cps all purpose flour. I didnt need to add any flour to roll it out. I used 1/2 cp butter in the filling and spread that over each rolled out section before cutting it into 1 1/2 inch strips and rolling them up. Made 15 rolls for me in a 11x15" pan. i didn't preheat the oven, and after 30 minutes I still wasn't happy. I think they needed more room to cook properly. It took 60 mins. I used cream cheese icing 1.5 cps confectioners sugar, 1/4 cps cream cheese, .5tsp vanilla, pinch of salt, 30 secs in microwave stir it up spread it over hot rolls.
