Best if allowed to sit overnight, otherwise refrigerate a couple of hours at minimum. The grated onion really adds something special.

I doubled this, but otherwise followed the recipe exactly as written. My sons wife rated it a 2, but she doesn't like sweet slaw. My son said 3 stars. He liked it, but it was not his favorite slaw. I liked it more than they did, so 4 stars it is. This is a creamy slaw that is a little sweeter than most other slaws. It kind of reminds me of "Amish Cole Slaw" sold here in PA. I did like the addition of the onion and I love celery seed. I would make this again, when I'm in the mood for a sweeter slaw. Thanks for the recipe.
