A thick sweet favorite in our house but I save it for those special occassions.This is one of those sweets you can't get enough of.It is a combination of a few recipes with a little extra taste.
- 3 cups cooked white rice
- 5 cups milk
- 1 (8 ounce) .can evaporated milk
- 1 (8 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- cinnamon, to your taste
- raisins (optional)
- Mix all ingred. in a pot
- Simmer 15 to 30 minutes til thick and warm.Stir often to keep from burning.
This was ok. Very sweet and thick. I liked the consistency. I added vanilla extract. Tasted a bit too much like sweetened condensed milk for my liking but I choose the recipe b/c I had both canned milks leftover from the holidays and wanted to use them up. In the future I would probably use a recipe that used milk/eggs/sugar for a more homemade taste. It was good though and by no means will it go to waste!
