The Cointreau-tequila-lime juice Margarita is the original recipe as created by Margarita Sames, a Texas socialite, in 1948.
- 1 1⁄2 fluid ounces Cointreau liqueur (1 jigger)
- 3 fluid ounces tequila (2 jiggers)
- fresh lime juice
- Mix Cointreau, tequila and lime juice with ice.
- Stir, strain into a Margarita glass and serve.
This recipe is on the Cointreau bottle...use premium blanco tequila and 3/4 ounces of lime juice. Delicious!
Strong drink, great on the rocks.
