This old favorite is always prepared during the warm summer months for family gatherings.
- 5 lbs chicken drumsticks
- 1 cup chicken broth (can also just use water)
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 1⁄4 cup vegetable oil
- 3 green onions, chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried ginger (may use 1 tsp. fresh grated)
- Combine all ingredients, except chicken, into a large covered Tupperware. Cover and shake till combined; add chicken. Chill 24 hours, turning often. Discard marinade and place drumsticks onto 1 or 2 cookie sheets. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 45 minutes, or till cooked through. Either serve immediately, or place into a crock pot and keep on low to stay warm.
Excellent, we liked it a lot. I made the marinade exactly as directed.I give it 4 stars only because I marinated drumsticks for 48 hours in refrigerator and cooked them in my rotisserie,so they can be crispy on the outside and juicy inside. Thank you. Will make it again,super easy and delicious meal.
