I found this recipe in my sister's cookbook.


  1. Soften unflavored gelatin in cold water.
  2. Set in heat-proof cup in pan simmering until clear.
  3. Let cool.
  4. Cream together shortening, powered sugar and vanilla extract.
  5. Add cooled gelatin to mixture.
  6. Beat for 10 minute.
  7. Put a spoonful onto cookie.
  8. Top with another cookie.
  9. Press two cookies together to spread filling.
