I love these carrots. This is a great side dish recipe.
- 1 lb sliced carrot
- 2 tablespoons margarine or 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 tablespoons dried oregano
- Wash and peel carrots.
- Slice carrots 1/4 inch thick.
- Make one layer of carrots, butter and oregano.
- Add two Tablespoons of water.
- Cook for one hour at 350 degrees.
- Stir before serving.
This was super easy to make and tasted great, which was nice, however I found that the carrots didn't all cook the same way. Some were shriveled up because they were over cooked and some were almost raw. So make sure that you mix your carrots during cooking.
This was a different way to do carrots - quite good. I didn't find the carrots to have a roasted flavour as another reviewer mentioned. They tasted like regular boiled or steamed carrots with a tasty seasoning.
Very nice side for our Easter dinner, lovely colour and flavour, although I will use less butter next time. It worked out well cus I was able to put them in the oven with the Ham at the same temperature. Thanks for posting, I will make them again.
