Great recipe! I made this for my office cookoff competition (the contest required participants to use orange in a recipe) and won 2nd place! They really do come out with the consistancy of brownies. Very tasty! Note: Be sure to spray the pan very well, they are very moist and can stick if you don't grease the pan.
I really enjoy the taste of these orange brownies or whatever you want to call them. I too have been making them ever since I saw Paula make them on her show . I have also tried a cream cheese orange frosting on them and it came out delicious. Thanks for taking the time to post.

Perfect change up from brownies! Maybe instead of calling them brownies, which denote chocolate to most people, you could call them orangies! Tried these out on family yesterday, and there is maybe 2 left now. This was so easy to throw together, which means it will be put into my 'favorites' cookbook. I didn't have a single orange in the house, which is quite odd for me, so I didn't use any zest in the recipe. I used the Splenda Sugar Blend in place of full sugar, and it tasted fantastic and with less calories( which of course means I can eat twice as many- Not really). Note: I've made these twice now, and on the second round I made two batches and only had enough powdered sugar to make one batch of 'icing', so used 1/2 as much as recipe calls for on each pan-was dry that way.MUST USE FULL ICING FOR FULL EFFECT! These were ok. I made them for a family reunion. Everyone liked them, however I found them to be more of a cake, not brownie.
These had the perfect brownie texture and a great orange flavor. How could anything with this much butter be bad? :) Thanks for sharing the recipe; I'll definitely be making it again.
We tried these after seeing them on food network and I thought they were horrible. No one ate them. I love Paula Deen, but these were not good.
